It was 2011, I had just completed grad school, got a job right out of the gate working full time as a psychologist with kiddos, had my own place in a beautiful little neighborhood right outside of Chicago…life to the outsider was, seemingly, perfect. And don’t get me wrong, I was still grateful for everything I had accomplished, but I knew something was missing. I had the job, the apartment, the friends, the family, but I woke up every day feeling self-conscious and unconfident in my body. I was still struggling with a history of diet extremes, yo-yo dieting, and recovering from a past eating disorder. I sometimes felt hopeless, like I would never reach my health and fitness goals, and let me tell you, when you lack confidence, it impacts how you show up in every other area of your life. I knew deep down that I was capable of feeling beautiful and confident in my skin, and most of all, I knew I was worth it (and so are you!)
There was no profound moment that I made the decision to take control of my health and fitness. And truthfully, I think that’s why most people never succeed. Because they’re waiting for a sign, or to feel like they’re “ready”, or waiting for different circumstances. But let me tell you, the circumstances will never be perfect. The SIGN you’re waiting for it right in front of you, and it’s the fact that you’re alive, and if you wait until you’re ready to step into your most confident, beautiful, best version of you, well, you’ll be waiting for the rest of your life.
The first day I stepped into the gym was scary! I didn’t have a coach or someone to guide me at first and learned everything on my own. When I think back on it now, I can’t even imagine how much quicker I would have propelled into my goals with the right guidance and support!
(Shoutout to my clients who recognize this and are fast-tracking to their best lives possible!)
I put in the work, day in and day out. I studied the science of nutrition and training, and became so incredibly passionate about it! I eventually decided to take things to the next level and compete in a fitness competition. I won first place as my first competition…WHAT?! And went on to earn my pro card just one year later.
Was it easy? HELL NO. But I whole-heartedly believe that fitness saved my life.
It changed my life.
It propelled me into becoming the woman I am today.
I am a woman who is now blessed to be serving and coaching woman all over the globe to reveal their inner power, and to teach them an enjoyable, sustainable approach to health and fitness and nutrition so that they can live in a body they LOVE for life!
I am no longer “technically” working as a psychologist, but I still utilize my degree and experience every single day in my coaching program, as I teach my clients strategies for overcoming the mental and emotional roadblocks that often stop us from achieving our goals and helping them make powerful mindset shifts that ultimately change their lives.
I am a certified Nutrition Coach through the Nutritional Coaching Institute and a Digestive Health Specialist through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (BYE BLOAT!), but most importantly, I am a woman just like you, who simply wanted more for my life. I am a woman who knew that life is too short to wait any longer to live in a body that wasn’t indicative of my happiest, healthiest self. And I am a woman who is on a mission to make an impact, empowering and teaching women all over the globe to do the same.
Can you imagined how fierce the world would be if every woman woke up as her most powerful and confident self?… Damn, that lights my fire and gives me the chills just thinking about it.
This is my mission. This is my movement. Are you joining me?
