“My journey in health and fitness has been a long and, at times, bumpy road.
My entire life I have been involved in a fairly active lifestyle, consisting of high school sports, college intramural sports, crossfit and beyond. Only recently did I begin my adventures in macro tracking and strength training, which is where I finally feel I’ve found my niche in the crazy plethora of fads and “quick fix” promises that are out there nowadays.
Learning the ins and outs of tracking my daily food intake has completely changed the way I look at diet and exercise. Not only have I been taught my whole life that certain foods are “bad”, lifting heavy will make me look like a man, and eating fat will make me fat, but I also fell victim to lack of control. Moderation was a huge struggle for me, which is why I questioned the idea of tracking at first. Could I handle it? Would I fail? How would I ever know if I didn’t try….so I did. And I am so happy I did!
Since studying more about the science behind what I am putting into my body, I have learned so much about myself and my mental capacity. I’ve learned that my body is capable of so much and mind over matter is a real “thing.” Breaking through that mental barrier that a lot of times holds people back from reaching their full potential was KEY to my success in finding what my body and mind were truly capable of. Has my journey been easy? FAR FROM IT! But has it been worth it? ABSOLUTELY”
